"Dancing in the Rain"

Dancing in the rain--
Where there is no sun to shine.
Thought I had a love
But I found out he wasn't mine.

Dancing in the rain--
On the soles of my feet.
Staring carefully,
At everyone I meet.

Dancing in the rain--
To the beat of my own drum.
Only a few know the story
About where I come from.

Dancing in the rain--
With a smile on my face.
I can still see the beauty,
While being in a monstrous place.

Dancing in the rain--
Without any shoes.
Pouring my heart out,
What else is there to do?

Dancing in the rain--
With a weight on my shoulder.
I feel the pressure of the world,
As I'm slowly getting older.

Dancing in the rain--
To my own little groove.
I have to dance my heart out,
I have to make a move.

Dancing in the rain--
Watching the steps that I take.
Holding onto God,
So my heart doesn't break.

Dancing in the rain--
May be an easy thing for you.
But always trying to stay strong
Is a hard thing to do.

"What's Black Versus Blue?"

Man down,
Man dead,
Man shot,
Officer said.

Officer down,
Officer dead,
All this violence--
Hurts my head.

Soldier down,
Soldier dead,
Soldier shot,
Paper said.

All our hearts,
Bleed the same.
Imagine if--
No one came.

Man down,
Man dead,
Man shot,
Officer said.

Officer down,
Officer dead,
All this violence--
Hurts my head.

Soldier down,
Soldier dead,
Soldier shot,
Paper said.

All our hearts,
Bleed the same.
All these deaths--
Now who's to blame?

Man down,
Man dead,
Man shot,
Officer said.

Officer down,
Officer dead,
All this violence--
Hurts my head.

Soldier down,
Soldier dead,
Soldier shot,
Paper said.

It doesn't matter
If the person is black or wears blue--
Taking a life
Just isn't up to you.

Man down,
Man dead,
Man shot,
Officer said.

Officer down,
Officer dead,
All this violence--
Hurts my head.

Soldier down,
Soldier dead,
Soldier shot,
Paper said.

A life is a life--
No matter what you do.
Do unto others--
As you want done to you.

Man down,
Man dead,
Man shot,
Officer said.

Officer down,
Officer dead,
All this violence--
Hurts my head.

Soldier down,
Soldier dead,
Soldier shot,
Paper said.

All of our hearts--
Should be left beating.
Life's hard enough,
And seems defeating.

Man down,
Man dead,
Man shot,
Officer said.

Officer down,
Officer dead,
All this violence--
Hurts my head.

Soldier down,
Soldier dead,
Soldier shot,
Paper said.

"A Journey"

No path,
No destination--
Just a journey on sight.

Lost goals,
More obstacles--
Just looking for a light.

No path,
No destination--
Everything seems tight.

Lost hope,
More dreams--
Nothing seems right.

No path,
No destination--
There is no course.

Lost goals,
More obstacles--
Trying to push through with force.

No path,
No destination--
Leaves for an easy discourse.

Lost hope,
More dreams--
Just looking for the source.

No path,
No destination--
Where is the hope?

Lost goals,
More obstacles--
How does one cope?

No path,
No destination--
Looking for a microscope.

Lost goals,
More obstacles--
With a limited scope.
