They say we're grown up now--

So, they don't want to raise us.

And when we were in school--

All they did was praise us.

Now, we hide our tears behind smiles--

Acting/Living like nothing can phase us.

My soul just can't take it.

"So I Lie"

So I lie...
I put on a mask and I keep it all in.
I put a smile on my face as I pretend.
All you can see is the light in my eyes--
You can't see the tears that I hide.
It's okay, it's not all in vain--
I'm awake and perhaps insane.
