Of the love that's inside.

Of the pain that I hide.

Because it's where love starts.

Write from the heart--

Because it's my art.

Write from the heart--

Even though it aches.

Write from the heart--

Even though it breaks.

Write from the heart--

Because it's what I feel.

Write from the heart--

Because I know it's real.

Write from the heart--

To pick up the pieces.

Write from the heart--

Of a love that never ceases.

Write from the heart--

As I try to heal.
Write from the heart--
Because it's in God's will.

Suppose I wrote a poem--
Based on fact and fiction.
And tried to sound it out--
With the perfect diction.

Suppose I wrote a poem--
Based on a truth and a lie.
Would you want to read it?
If so, tell me why.

Suppose I wrote a poem--
And based it on heartbreak.
Would you open your heart up?
Or write it off as a mistake?

Suppose I wrote a poem--
Based off a story.
Would you want to read it?
Because this is starting to bore me.

Suppose I wrote a poem--
Based on a fairy tale.
Would you even read it?
Would it even sell?

Suppose I wrote a poem--
Just to write.
Because it's therapeutic in a way--
And it makes things all right.

If you ever find me happy--

It's because I'm writing.

There's something about it--

That's always inviting.

You can find me writing--

A poem or two.

It's what I like--

It's what I do.

Write, write, write--

That's just me.

It's who I am--

Not who I pretend to be.

Write, write, write--

Because I can.

It's in my nature--

It's a part of God's plan.

Write, write, write--

And I'll write more.

Until one day--

They can't ignore.

Write, write, write--

That's what I do!
